Alive At Last is committed to offering life transformation through a faith-based approach.
Mentees overcome abuse, addiction, stigmatization, and poverty through small groups and one-on-one mentoring programs. Because of your generosity, our ministry has grown to offer even more options to the shelters and safe houses we serve.
Our volunteer mentors offer emotional, mental, and spiritual support. We use a curriculum created from sources that include:
- “Mending the Soul – Understanding and Healing Abuse” by Steven R. Tracy
- “Forgiving Forward – Unleashing The Forgiveness Revolution” by Dr. Bruce and Toni Hebel
- “Unloved – A Study Of God’s Love” and “Unlikely – A Study about Significance” – by Jennifer Hicks.
Our small healing groups provide:
- Free books and curriculum for each mentee
- Free art supplies for healing art therapy
- We provide trauma-informed volunteers who complete a four-step vetting process. Mentees will experience life transformation in our Christian small groups, where the facilitators are often former survivors themselves. Small group mentors share the Alive at Last mission to offer freedom and restoration to every survivor.
One-on-one mentorship includes:
- Individual one-on-one mentoring/coaching training materials and support
provided for each of the mentee’s unique circumstances. - Mentors receive trauma training offered at monthly Empower sessions led by professional counselors and experts on human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
- The Life Purpose online tool includes several assessments such as the Strengths Finder, Love Language Assessment, Navigating Conflict Resolution, budgeting tool, and other personal discovery and empowerment tools. As a survivor moves through and
completes the above assessments, they can be paired with a Business Mentor. The Business Mentorship program is a 6-month commitment that builds on the work completed in the 7 group sessions, witha goal of assisting each mentee with career readiness and stability. - The self-discovery and empowerment focus of Alive
At Last helps survivors discover their God-given purpose. This crucial resource for mentors helps them as they individualize what a survivor needs through personal conversation and coaching.
Other ministry provided to survivors:
- Alive at Last provides gift bags with personal hygiene items to the women we serve.
- Inspire events – AAL teams minister in shelters and safe houses, offering a healing art class, or a fun experience with a motivational speaker and food. Inspire events
give survivors a sense of value and hope. - Free Bibles are provided upon request by mentees or mentors.
The mentors of Alive At Last give survivors a safe place to be a work in progress!
Your gifts help make that possible.
Thank you.
