Lacy had been incarcerated for 3 long years. She had experienced so many layers of abuse in her lifetime. Now, it feels strangely new and different to sit in an Alive at Last small group on a Wednesday night. For the first time in two decades, Lacy feels safe. She feels seen and heard.
Lacy and the other residents in the women’s program, arrive at small group, each with their Alive at Last study book in hand. Everyone grabs a snack provided, and proceeds with chatting sharing about their highs and lows since the last time they gathered. Learning to trust is not easy considering all that Lacy has experienced. Lacy admits she has so many questions. The Alive at Last small group just started in April. So there is time to build trust and time for God to work grace and healing through the power of His Word each week. There are also many people praying for Lacy and the others survivors in her small group.
Thank you for praying and giving so that Lacy and others like her can rise from survival to thriving.
Would you please consider giving to our Free to Thrive campaign so we can continue this life changing work?
