Ally is a survivor who got introduced to Alive at Last while she was in a homeless shelter. She was separated from her 2 children while in the shelter and most of that time she could not see them because of the Covid-19 lockdowns and ongoing safety concerns. She joined one of our healing small groups that were offered through zoom and upon completion, she was matched with a mentor who took her through our 6 month Life Purpose Mentorship program and they continued working together for over a year.

During this time, Ally found a job, saved enough to move into her own apartment, she was reunited with her kids and they have joined a nearby church.

Ally feels confident in her journey ahead. She is thankful for having received support through the ministry of Alive at Last.

We want you to hear Ally’s personal testimonial of her healing and transformation.

“For the first time in years, I enjoy time alone. I now realize the neglect I suffered as a child due to my mother’s alcoholism is because my mother had her own unresolved trauma. I know that the childhood sexual abuse I endured made me vulnerable to further sexual exploitation which I suffered in my teen years. It wasn’t my fault. My Alive at Last healing small group taught me that it was okay to set physical and personal boundaries even if people don’t respect that. My mentor showed up for our scheduled meetings no matter what kind of day I was having. I am thankful for her consistency. Her faithfulness made me want to show up too and do the hard work of healing even when it was painful and I wanted to quit.”
