Being set free from human trafficking and sexual exploitation is just the beginning.  Being free from the torment of all the trauma, bitterness, and unforgiveness is where these ladies begin to come alive and experience true freedom, peace, love, joy, hope, and happiness.

This picture is from the celebration/graduation we recently did for 5 women who completed the Forgiving Forward class we offered at Salvation Army this past fall.  Hindrances from Covid restrictions didn’t stop an amazing transformation to take place within the hearts of these women.

These women have all been through so much in their lives, from abuse, abandonment, and neglect from a young age to drug addictions, incarcerations, and loss of custody of their children as adults.

One of these women shared that she was sold by her mom for sex to a drug dealer in exchange for drugs when she was a child.

Another young lady in our class was assaulted, raped, and left for dead and later found out she was pregnant with this man’s child.

So much to work through, heal from and forgive.

Some of these ladies wanted to be a part of this class, some did not.

One of the ladies clearly communicated that she did not want to be in the class and said that she would never be able to forgive her parents for their abuse and abandonment.

By week 3 we started seeing these women open up to the idea of forgiving and one came to class bubbling over with joy after releasing all the painful things she had been holding onto.  She said once she began forgiving herself and others, she felt a weight lifted off of her and she felt such peace.

We prayed for the ladies in the class who were still struggling and slowly we started seeing more openness week by week and then by the end all five of the ladies who completed the class had amazing testimonies of being set free by accepting the forgiveness offered to them through Jesus, and by forgiving themselves and others.

Please continue to lift up these ladies in prayer as they continue to work through their program at Salvation Army and we continue to serve them through Alive at Last.  All five of these ladies would like to be a part of our mentorship program and are currently waiting for mentor matchups.

We hope you know you are a part of making this all possible.  It is because of your partnership through prayer, giving, serving, and sharing with others.

Thank you for helping these women live free and discover their God-given purpose!

Join us in celebrating 10 years of ministry to trafficked and exploited women by giving to our Help Her Rise campaign so we can continue this life changing work.
