This past summer, Talia attended an event where Alive at Last alumni gathered. Talia shared with Gwen Miller, Alive at Last Executive Director, how her life has transformed in the last two years since she first connected with Alive at Last through a small group.

Today, she is living on her own and paying all her own bills. She recently got a car. Talia says with confidence, that even though she started as an assistant chef at a restaurant in Downtown Fort Worth, she was promoted to lead chef. Talia’s favorite part of her job is training new hires in culinary skills. She tells them, “When serving customers, presentation is key. So make every meal look amazing!”

Talia is hopeful about her future. She has been sober and living free from exploitation for 2 years.

Girls who find themselves trapped in sexual exploitation often cycle back into that lifestyle of exploitation seven times before making a lasting change.

But we believe and have proven that a solid relationship with Jesus has the power to rewrite these statistics, to alter the course of those we serve.

In a vulnerable moment, Talia confided in Gwen about her yearning for a supportive and healthy community. There are times when she feels like an outsider, an experience that leaves her exposed and susceptible to old temptations. It’s a plea for help and connection.

Let us unite in prayer that Talia finds her way into the nurturing embrace of an Alive at Last mentor, and that she takes full advantage of the abundant resources available online, including the vibrant and wholesome online community we’ve cultivated.

We invite you to join our mission, to stand with Talia in her journey towards wholeness and self-discovery. Together, we can uplift Talia and others like her, breaking the chains of generational abuse, poverty, and addiction, and ushering in a future of lasting transformation and empowerment.
